Stretch Drama Company is for our senior pupils (Years 6, 7 and 8) with a keen interest in theatre and performance. The activity will begin after half term, in the Autumn Term, 2022.

STRETCH - A Walhampton Drama Company

Every child will be given a substantial role as well as being involved in writing, directing and producing the performances. The company will meet and rehearse in activity time in the PAC and a new cast will be selected for each production. Depending on the nature of the individual productions, cast positions will either be allocated on a first-to-sign-up basis or auditioned via a workshop. The drama scholars will be offered first chance to be involved.

The group focuses on both acting and musical theatre, as well as providing an opportunity to study theatre practitioners.

There is an academic background to all performances that is researched and then explored further using acting and class exercises. This research creates an informed backbone to the performance.

• Mrs Usher uses her experience and energy to offer formal theatre training and stage awareness as well as technical voice training and presenting skills.
